Factors Influencing Mammogram Rates Among Minority Women
- HLTH 2400 -
This artifact is a literature review written for the course Determinants of Health Behavior. This literature review identifies the specific factors that influence mammogram rates among minority women using the Social Ecological Model. The findings from this literature review highlighted the many factors that influence mammography rates such as social, economic, political, and environmental. I now have a much deeper understanding of one of the many disparities within healthcare systems and how it impacts marginalized populations. Recognizing the importance of considering the many factors that influence an individual’s health behaviors will enable me to provide more comprehensive healthcare to my future patients.

The Journey Towards Achieving SDG #3 - Haiti
- HLTH 4700 -
This artifact is a final project presentation for the course Global Health. In this project, I identified and analyzed the health threats to SDG #3: Good Health and Well-Being in Haiti. After gathering all of the key findings based on scientific studies and articles, I developed a list of recommendations to address the health threats and promote SDG #3 in Haiti. This project further improved my understanding of the sustainable development goals, especially with a global perspective specifically in low to middle income countries. A challenging aspect of this project was effectively synthesizing the research each study used. Through this process, I developed stronger skills in identifying and applying the most relevant findings from each study to support my project. This will greatly prepare me for a career in healthcare as I will be able to analyze and interpret research in order to provide the highest quality of care to my future patients.
